1.0 lbs Pale Ale Malt
6.6 lbs CBW® Golden Light Liquid (Malt Extract)
0.75 oz Chinook (13.0%) - added during boil, boiled 60 min
0.5 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 30.0 min
0.5 oz Cascade (5.5%) - added during boil, boiled 10.0 min
0.5 oz Cascade (5.5%) - steeped after boil
165 mL WYeast 1056 American Ale
Mash all grains in 1 gal water at 168°F for 30 min. Sparge at 170°F to make 2 gal.
Add malt & ¾ oz. Chinook. Boil for 60 min. adding ½ oz. Cascade at 30 minute mark (mid-point of boil)
Add another ½ oz. at 50 minute mark & final ½ oz. after boil has stopped.
Let sit for 10 min. (to allow for steeping).
Strain into fermenter filled with 3 gal. ice cold water. Pitch yeast when cooled to 80°F or lower.
Yields 5 gal.
This recipe is a little Hoppier than most APA's but still tasty none-the-less.
